Negative feedback - Looks like a mix of LoL and WC

It will have coop and map editior that's amazing. But It looks cartoony, it has camps, it has cringe graphics and slow fights with super over saturated colors. It looks like DOTA/LoL/WC3. It will have heroes...

Nothing looks like SC1/2 or C&C3 Tiberium Wars/Kane's Wrath. I thought at first they would make a more responsive C&C3 mixed with the more advanced micro macro of SC, but it looks like something that wants to ride on the DOTA/LoL waggon.

Not for me. I'll wait and see but the project looks very pretentious for now, claiming it's made by Blizzard and C&C devs is ridiculous, pretending they will save RTS, save it from what? I have seen SO MANY games claim such thing and fail miserably. Back 4 Blood, all the Arena shooters supposed to kill Quake, etc. the list goes on.

Warcraft 3 had camps. but instead of LoL buffs they gave you xp and items that buffed your hero unit.

Btw what's with the Kickstarter.com? Didn't they said 2 years ago that they had a massive 200/300 millions fund for the next years from big studios? (including Riot Games which would 100% validate why their graphics are cartoony and it plays like a LoL game?). On top of that they said they already have enough to finance eSports for the game for some years. What's going on with Kickstarter.com?

According to my knowledge they just had 35M, never heard anything about 200M.
And even in the Kickstarter and previously in the Crowdfunding reddit post they mentioned that they already have enough funds to release their game and explained why they are doing a Kickstarter.

We already have all the funding we need to release our game. This Kickstarter campaign will enable us to offer our players these two highly-requested “extras”:

1. A unique Collector's Edition

Many have asked us to sell a Collector’s Edition of Stormgate. Quite a few of us enjoy having the Warcraft III and StarCraft II Collector’s Edition boxes on our shelves at home; they reflect our love for those games and universes. Collector’s Editions are challenging and expensive to produce and are largely a labor of love dedicated to the game’s most passionate fans and supporters. Kickstarter will give us an accurate count of exactly how many Collector’s Editions we need to make.

Stormgate is fully funded to release. This Kickstarter is in part a response to fan requests for a way to purchase a physical Collector's Edition of Stormgate. There never was an open beta scheduled for mid 2023. Only the start of the testing phase was scheduled for mid 2023, and that's also exactly the time when the testing started (aka the Prealpha). So far they didn't lose a single word about an open beta, they might as well never do one and just go into Early Access instead (It's not like there is much difference between an open beta and an early access anyways). And considering that they now also offer beta keys in the Kickstarter we at least know that the next few Betas also won't be open but closed.

I clearly remember them talking about a time limited open beta (for a short time) for Q3 23. The game was not supposed to be released in 2025 but much sooner, that was the initial plan.

edit: btw I was 100% wrong the initial financing was 25 millions, NOT 200 to 300 millions, my bad.
