Push for good "map editor"/custom game tools!
I played WC3 and (and to a lesser extent SC2) for years because of the custom map making scene, and this feature is in my opinion what allows for the longevity of these games to a more casual audience. Heck, these custom maps have spawned whole genres of games several times.

Blizzard completely butched the SC2 editor release with poor documentation and user-unfriendly design. Some talented folks can still do great things with it, but compared to the Wc3 editor it was like hitting a brick wall in my experience. They also made some ham-fisted attempts to monetize custom maps and just gave up on the editor when they couldn't yank it like a money making slot machine.

I saw the "unleash your creativity in the editor" blurb, and I really hope it will do it justice. I'd love to make some games and play even more. Here's hoping Frostgiant won't shoot itself in the foot.

All I know is that they plan to release the full editor the developers are also using to make everything, even with 2 different modes, one more simple mode for newer map makers and one expert mode. So I have high hopes for it being a good map editor, since they probably also want it to be fun to use, since they have to use the very same one.

Yeah that's good. I hope they put genuine effort into making it accessible while also allowing for complexity. SC2 editor was the same the developers used too, but it was opaque and majorly inaccessible compared to WC3. I could personally care less about the competitive side of things (though I know many enjoy it), so I'm holding out for a good custom map scene.
