Will this game have Steam Deck support?

That's a very important question. Steam Deck support is essential for this kind of game.

We've had players play on the steam deck and it runs fine! We're still fine tuning our controller support but it's very playable with the steam deck mouse pad!

When do you expect controller support to be implemented?

It's about 70% of the way there. I would say latest a few weeks?

Can actual players give feedback about their experience on Steam deck? I’d rather have feedback from other players. Thanks!

I just purchased the game a moment ago, launched it during my lunch break and the first thing that came up was a text box that I cannot type in. I launched it in desktop mode. This is okay for me, but it might not be for you.
Figured I'd let you know.

Thanks for the feedback! You can simply press STEAM+X to bring the virtual keyboard (don't know if you already knew that). Even plenty of fully released games may don't show the keyboard automatically either. To me it's not a all a problem, unless you mean it's not working even if you bring the virtual keyboard or tap/press the text box?

I wish someone could share their experience regarding performance, crash, huge frame drop, game breaking bugs, etc. as well but I guess it's too soon, I know it's EA but if the game isn't playable without having a headache, I'll happily wait. I just don't like the dev just saying vaguely it's working fine for some unknown players. Early reviews seem fake as well, people praising the game after only 30-40 minutes of playtime seem strange to me.

Hello, I was playing on Steam Deck today, and I got stuck at the tutorial part where it wants you to press a button for different camera views, and I literally pressed everything. Nothing worked. Can only look side to side, Not up and down. So I turned the game off. I think I’ll keep it and wait for a controller update.

Thanks a lot for the heads up! I know it's EA and all but I've seen games running just fine on the Deck with controller support right from their EA launch and being stuck for something as basic as camera vew is a no-go aas for now for me, so I'll wait more for this one.

Yeah I would suggest you wait! We'll be working on controller support heavily next and can definitely give an update once it's live
I just purchased this game because it looks right up my alley, and I tried using community layouts and desktop mode on my ROG Ally and I can’t seem to get past the camera control tutorial. I will try the game tonight with mouse and keyboard docked to my tv for now. I really don’t want to refund at this point because I’d like to support you all and I can wait for full controller support :) can’t wait for the update!

**edit** I’ve been messing around a bit more and I got past the camera issue (clicking right stick, duh), and although some of the button layouts are weird, so far I’m playing with no issues! Can’t wait to dive in more after work :)

Amazing that you got it to work! I'm working on official controller support right now. Hopefully by the end of the week you won't have any more weird issues.

Steam deck players there is a community controller layout that works perfect!
I'm trying to use Steam Deck to.play as well, and when I get to the login screen and bring up the keyboard, pressing the letters doesn't actually type in the username/password spot. Wondering if anyone else has this issue. Can't seem to select the Username box and then type.

I also got excited when I saw controller support! But I have the same issue, pressing A,B,X and Y does nothing.
I also can’t get farther than trying to select the Create a username after the main menu.
