Considering the hard stat caps (like a level-based limit on intelligence or strength) and how easy it is to reach them I would suggest to play whatever sounds like fun to you. That said, some of the racial abilities. you learn a new one every 10 levels, have good synergy with specific classes or playstyles.
Your starting areas (@ level 1) are limited to:
* The Queen's Colony -> Qeynos
* The Overlord's Outpost -> Freeport
Racial neighborhoods have been brought back so Freeportian Gnomes, for example, will start (once they leave "newbie island") in Temple Street but you can always change that by changing your Bind Point.
Get two queynos Swords one each. set as appearances.
They actually fit in the palm of other characters hands.
