Best Solo Class?
I have been searching the internet for literal hours and have not gotten anything from >2014. But even with searching content from a few years ago, I noticed that there are some threads that have this question that go like this,

Poster "Best solo class... What is it?"

and people get all mad that people like me don't give any information about what we trually want. Really I'm just looking for a class that has decent survivability even without a merc and someone who can atleast lay out moderate dps. Also, I would be fine with ranged or close combat but close combat is preferred. I would like as much info as possible such as atleast an idea of an AA build. But obviously that is not needed, all information is very helpful

Thanks!

In EverQuest 2 there is no "Best class" since every class performs differently and fills a unique role. Player skill is also an important factor on how a class plays, for example, a Beastlord can top the damage charts if played well in a group while also being a proficient soloing class.

In terms of an easily understood solo class I would recommend the following:

1. Fighter Based Solo Classes: Paladin & Shadowknight.
These two classes play very similar to eachother, the differences between the two are that the Shadowknight is better at group pulling and uses Leaching based DoTs to heal themselves overtime whilst damaging enemies, while the Paladin uses more buffs to augment himself and stuns to keep monsters from damaging him. Paladins also have a few self-heals and anti-death mechanics which could save your life whilst soloing.

2. Mage Based Solo Classes: Necromancer & Conjuror.
Like the Paladin and Shadowknight, these two classes play similar to eachother with a few little differences. Conjurors have stronger pets than Necromancers and rely on them for most of their damage output, whilst the caster themselves have alot of buffs and augments to improve the power of their pet or to sap the power of the enemy. Necromancers have very deadly DoT spells and use their pets more as a distraction, Necromancer's pets are less powerful than their Conjuror counterpart but they make up for that with their own leathality within their spells. Currently Necromancer's DoTs can rival even group based classes like Warlock and Wizard in terms of damage output.

3. Scout Based Solo Classes: Beastlord.
I figured this is worth being put here, Beastlord's are one of the most revered solo classes in the game but are more skill dependant than the classes listed previously. If you're going to play a Beastlord I reccomend reading up on guides or asking the Beastlord channel in-game for helpful advice.

I hope this helps you pick a class, if you have any further questions you may contact my characters' in-game for advice:

Vaelren - Antonia Bayle | Warden | West Coast
Aelro - Antonia Bayle | Dirge | West Coast
Jauxiobaal - Maj'Dul | Shadowknight | West Coast

Thanks guys. I really appriciate your answers and if you were curious I made a Shadowknight. Also, I ended up telling my friends about this game and they want to play, so if you also had any opinions on either good dungeon or just general group classes, that would be nice too. Thanks!

@Evilnok
Oh, I'll have to look into that. I haven't raised a Necromancer since Kunark, so I got most of the information about them through my guildies. Thanks for that though! :)
