EverQuest II

Statistiche:
Solo dps class
From my understanding I can get a merconary, so healing should be delt with
But what i need is dps, what is the best class for solo dps?

from what i read, beastlords are consistantly top 3 in terms of dps, but i have no idea if thats just in raids where you have all the adps or if that also goes for solo.

oh, and the reason i want dps apposed to something that could tank better is because dps is the bottleneck in mmos, and i dont believe eq2 is any different.

Just for informatioin - EQ2 mercenaries are available via subscription or if using a free account you can get by buying from the Daybreak Games store with credits.

Through my two accounts and over the years I played Berserker, Guardian, Paladin, Ranger, Templar, Inquisitor and Coercer. All got to level 95+.

Played a Beastlord a few times. I love pet classes and always roll one in any MMO I play.

To be honest I found my Berkserker to be to most lethal and traded spots with a Beastlord. The Berserker was also more easy to built and play. Those guys could put out crazy DPS if played and geared right. Use to use 'Advanced Combat Tracker' to examing such.
The most solo friendly to my knowledge are pet classes, Shadowknights or Berserkers.
ok, thanks for the info... always loved the idea of berserkers in everquest, but never their exicution.

I may have a friend that will come with me, any advice for him? he likes playing tanks, specificly paladins, but really any class that isnt just sitting there with its pud in its hand pressing 2 buttons he is able and willing to paly.
EQ2s Paladins are a good solid but slow to level if I remember. I found the Clerics to be interesting and a challenge to play effectively. The Coercer was the hardest but when I got it right it was great in the group situation.

Many of the class quests are outdated now and the rewards low-spec compared to other weapons and armor avaialble today. The Epic Weapon/ Mythical Weapon Questline is still good as it give you an extra attack or skill to add to your hotbar.

There are recipes for class specific armor, etc. but then again the stats are so out of date compared to what drops now.

There is usually a lower level class questline that will also give you another skill for your hotbar. You do not automatically come across these but a little research should give you the info you need. Some of these are worth the effort and some are not.

If you want to play a "DPS" class, Necromancer is the strongest solo class, however, adding a merc to the mix will let you play rangers, assassins, and warlocks all of whome can do good DPS. Conjurors are up there with Necromancers, although not quite as survivable as Necromancers.

Berserkers and Shadowknights are good soloers, with the shadowknight being better at solo, but they're damage is a lot lower. Throw in a merc, and the berserker has more damage to offer.

Beastlords are fairly strong, and swapping to their spiritual stance will give you a lot of survivability at the expense of real damage. With a merc, they can rock along nicely in feral stance, and swap stances if you ever do get in trouble, but it is no feign death for avoiding trouble.

Brigands with a merc are quite strong, not the damage of the assassin or ranger, but not bad, and ahead of the tank classes. Theuy can also get a feign death, which is awesome for when you get into thr rong place. Swashies are a bit tougher to go with.

Wizards and furies need a merc to hold the agro, then they can blast away.

Templars, wardens, and mystics can all spec for melee, and be pretty good at it. They are quite survivable, with the mystic probably being the 'toughest' of them. They start off weak, and at the top end game, become weak relatively speaking, but for a lot of the game, they're quite strong.

Bards are a bit meh - they really buff the heck out of people, but they need people to buff, and solo you dont have that. Brawlers are a bit squishy, but have reasonable melee and feign death. Guardians are slow, low DPS, and hard to kill, but are tedious to solo.

Anyway - original question - best solo DPS - Necromancer.

What server are you on and how high did you level all those classes?

with eq1 its obvious that the devs despise necros, with constant nerfsforceing anyone who plays the class reasonably well to have to re learn it each time. are they as hated in eq2?
