Out levelled content question
So, needless to say, I'm outlevelling zones on a regular basis. That combined with the fact there are multiple zones in each level range, has me wondering when to do them? I want to eventually go through all the content in game. Is there a reason to wait and go back to do these unfinished zones/quests until max level? I tried asking in the guild I got invited to, but all I got as a response was "drops". Really not an explanation, lol!

So yeah, is there a difference between scaling myself down now and doing them, or waiting until level 100 and scaling then? Thanks for any clarification on this!

Only for appearance items and then raids have the pretty ones.
There's no reason to do old content except maybe for the story or if you're really bored.
The only content you "need" to do currently is the epic weapon and the myth conversionn buff.
And also the Greenmist Heritage Quest. Oh right and a few languages.
Read about it on eq2.wikia.com

Down scale when ever you feel like doing lower content. Scaling now or later makes no difference really. There is no reason not to do it if your having fun.

I'm going to try and break this down the best I can for you, bud.
The reasons why you would do more content at a level that you have passed is this:
Reason 1: LANGUAGES - Some later quests require you to know a language, and some of those languages you can only get by doing certain questlines, which will usually be your level, or below your level.
Reason 2: ACHIEVEMENTS - Another reason to go to those other areas is to complete achievements (the one in your achievement tab).
Reason 3: APPEARANCE - Some items that look really cool, or are just plain funny, are from questlines from a lower level.
Reason 4: ITEMS - Some items aren't necassary for your play; but do make things easier, or more asteticially pleasing. For example; Mystic Billy Moffet is a charm you can use from your inventory that will shrink your character by a percentage. Some people use the item just for looks, but sometimes I have to use it on my Troll because he will be too tall for certain areas.
Reason 5: ALTERNATE ADVANCEMENT - Sometimes you will hit Maximum Adventure Level before your Maximum Alternate Advancement level. Once you have completed everything at your current level, you will see your experience gain go way down. Sometimes it will feel like the more you do, the less experience you gain. It will be frustrating. Sometimes it will be better for you to mentor down and go to a fresh area and get explorable and unseen named experience.
Reason 6: CHRONOMAGIC TASKS: At level 70 you may speak to a Chronomagi Tasker to receive a daily Mission somewhere in Norrath.

How to "Scale Yourself Down"
"Scaling yourself down" is known in Everquest 2 as Mentoring. You can Mentor yourself in two ways.
Approach 1: If you are in a party with a person who is lower level than you, right click them and press "Mentor", it will bring you to thier level.
Approach 2: This approach is called Self-Mentoring. You MUST be at least level 20, and MUST have at least 5 gold and 100 status. You can mentor to any level that is within a 5 level increment (95..90..85..80..75...ETC) and I believe the only way to cancel it once you are finished is to use the /unmentor command. There is no cooldown for Self-Mentoring, and as long as you can pay the fee (5g 100status) you can do it as fast as you can get to the Timeless Chronomage (See Below).
To Self-Mentor you will need to go see a Timeless Chronomage (An Erudite, he is not a named person he is just called Timeless Chronomage) He will be found In each of Norrath's major cities (Qeynos, Freeport, Kelethin, Neriak, and Gorowyn).

I hope this helps you. I sent you a friend invite, hit me up if you need anything.

You also have the option to not outlevel the content at all.
You can chose what percentage of your gained experience to turn into alternate advancement experience, and if you chose 100%, you wont level at all, but you will gain aa points (levels) that you can spend to make your character more powerful without leveling up.

Always found it more fun to be able to do all the quests in an area without outleveling it, and gaining alternate advancement points instead of the normal exp is quite rewarding.
