EQ1 launches and updates but not EQ2

Had exact same problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling, fixed it for me. You'll need to create an account on the EQ2 site to play. Steam has a problem with files being corrupted during download, Ark Survival Evolved is a real pain using the mods because of this. Awesome games though.

Or you could try restarting your PC/Laptop?or restarting steam?

that didn't work. This seems to be Everquest's mess. It actually will eventually launch, but something they're doing makes the launcher take about 2 minutes to launch the first time on modern gaming PCs.

I have the same problem. I had to walk away for a while after the character creation page loaded, and my library page says I have played for five hours, even though I have yet to create a character. I cannot get past that point. Very frustrating. : \

Launch the daybreak patcher.
Hit gear wheel.
Make sure the game is fully downloaded. - might be game version or game assets.

Go find the game in the folder and run the launchpad.exe

Repeating this as I think it is the issue for Most Users: The launcher just takes AGES to load. Even on a modern gaming rig with a solid-state drive, the launcher takes 1-2 minutes to load. This is just bad launcher code or a bad server setup - nothing players need to fix. Just launch the game and get up and get a drink or whatever. The game is super old and runs fine after you get through this janky launcher. . . I'm guessing they have a shoe-string budget to barely keep this thing running.

Actually, I have a great computer and it launches fast when it is working. I could not get in the game for a couple of weeks. Then 2 weeks ago it worked fine. Now tonight the launcher just sits blank forever. I will keep trying but it is Daybreak that is at fault.
