Are you trading through Market?? If so trading through Market is the trade made with smugglers.
You make trades with empires in your Diplomacy tab, located in the top right corner under Dashboard option. So click on open Dashboard and there you will find Diplomacy panel and inside you can make trades with other empires.
Or by clicking on the portraits located on the right side of your screen, clicking on them also leads you to Diplomacy panel where you can engage is trade with them.
Hope this helps, if you have any other question feel free to ask.
Basically here you setup the quantity of products you want to keep in global storage. If you wanna have the item only sold - lock the buying, and viceversa. This way trading gets seamlessly "plugged in" your other production chains, leveling your global stock for chosen product.
And there are trade deals you setup and activate via diplomacy panels setting up quantities, prices, leveling out products you want to barter with another faction, setup a trade deal duration etc. These ones can be really bountiful when set up. But also be mindful not to start a war with a trading faction as it will nullify the agreement.
A few points of feedback though:
1) Seeing the production statistics is vital. Having that hidden in a subscreen is a real problem. I more than once run into issues with goods running out, because I didn't realize that I have a negative production value. That almost bancrupted me in one game, because people suddenly stopped paying taxes. It would be nice if the current production surplus/minus could be shown at any consumer building, be that a house or another production facility.
2) It would also be nice to have a chain overview somewhere, showing me my surplus/minus of every single stage in the chain.
3) The tutorial should better explain the importance of houses. I figured that out myself once I started a normal game, but it had me baffled for a while when running the tutorial, because there is never an emphasis on expanding the living quaters.
4) The biggest question mark I still have left though is in combat: I can easily defeat any enemies army so far, but even a single garrison always stops my attacks, and I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. This need some better explanation somewhere.
All in all: great game, I do not regret buying it.
I would very much welcome some optimisation on the graphics side, because I suspect the game engine might be rendering foliage and foliage shadows even if I can't actually "see" it, since the issue gets progressively worse the farther I zoom out. At the closest zoom level, the GPU is at about 50% and less than 200W power draw.
(I have a hwInfo subscription, and a Stream Deck designated to show me these things in real time, since I stream/record stuff for Twitch/YouTube, and I need to be able to spot things like this on the fly if I get issues during streams or recording)
I hope you can look at this and do some game optimisations, as it is a game that I would like to record for my YT channel - but even with adjusting down the quality, draw distance, shadows etc settings quite aggressively, I still get very high GPU usage/Watt draw. CPU is fine.
If you would like a dxdiag-file, feel free to ask for one, and I can send it to your dev team.

Our primary target in the following period is optimizations, and every dxdiag and info from your side will greatly speed up the process for our guys.
Greatly appreciated!
- mouse scroll speed is way too low
Also, the input for turning your screen with the middle mouse button/ALT is both sensitive and 'steppy', I'd like it if this could be smoothed a little more, but this is very minor.
Lastly, and this is purely aesthetic, I'd like it if I could 'paint' under buildings, such as putting tile/dirt under them. It drives me wild to build gravel around a factory, but there's still a barrier of grass/dirt between the road and the entrance of the factory itself. There can be no room for nature in the beating heart of industry.
Actually you can toggle it on city view as well - also sth we'll obviously cover more in the following updates to give it "more meat" to be less hidden in a way. It's the little triangle button (as in drop down) beneath the play/pause button. It is something we covered among our short guides series on our channels, but definitely needs to be more obvious on the UI itself.
Camera smoother and less steppy - goes to the production board!
Under-building painting - will have to check this one with a team tbh, there are few ways we could do this. No promises however.
That's deep man, really deep
Btw, extended resource tracker bar should be available in the city view too, that's the primary function of it. I usually use it to track military equipment production, but works for any resource you set
Both are on the production board since yesterday, but thank you kindly nevertheless for your feedback. Nested tooltips - I can't promise, but additional work on them are on the board, especially the "yankyness" sometimes when going over the buildings icons.
If you have additional info about the tooltips, sth that "drives you crazy", let us know! Thanks!
I am still not 100% on if i should get it though i love economics in games but most make it really basic with little to no effort in them. i'm going to watch some more videos and see how the game plays overall based on economics and then make a decision then.
keep up with you activity in the forums pro-activity is the best thing.
Oh, fantastic, I didn't even notice the arrow. I kind of assumed it was just some UI flourish along with the gold lines under it. Excellent.
Yeah, I haven't hit up any guides outside of the game yet, and not super far. So most of my observations are just things that've come to mind as I play. And I'm glad to hear the other points will be considered.
Thanks again.
Regarding the 100% to "not/buy" decision, there are now plenty of YT channels that covered KP, I'm sure you'll make a good pick (no matter the yes/no). In the end, it is better to wait if uncertain, than buy and feel sorry laters.
If you do have any questions for us, we'll answer ASAP (or we're asleep - have to do daily some say ;) )
