Do you play the battles as well?
Thats the only part that confused me

No, battles are not like Total War series where you can enter the battle field and command your armies, it is more like Europa Universalis where you attack a province with enemy army and then you have stages of combat where you have calculations that determine if it there is a winner, looser or maybe a draw.

You don't see battle field, everything is done in World map.

I do hope this helps a bit, feel free to ask if something is not clear.🙂

whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa..... hold on. So you're saying that we will not see the battle happen at all? So what the heck is all that preview of in the video on the store page then???? It shows troops being moved on the world map and then a battle scene in the next clip showing troops and tanks moving across the field into a town. Is that just false advertisement or is that all at our main base making it seem like battle like that we will see across the map. If so, that's extremely misleading for sales.

@bigd If I had to guess I think they are/were considering rts also since all the units shown are functional but they do not want to commit to a feature that might not be polished enough

@bigd
This is cut scenes from animations that are mostly from our stories that you will be able to play in the map where you build your city.
So you follow a story that gives you option on what you can do and then you have animations that shows you soldiers sneaking, fighting, you see field guns firing, zeppelins flying, tanks smashing things and so on, all depending on what option did you choose (1. smash 2. negotiate 3. drink beer and chill).🙂

So you will have action on the World map and on your map where you build your city, but you will not command an army like in Total War.🙂

@Paraleo
To have RTS also in the game would be for now a massive undertaking on top of mixing city builder with grand strategy elements so we will not implement RTS in the game, that would be just to much to ask for unfortunately...

But, I mean yea, if we get 200 mill €, a couple of years time and we can talk of maybe doing it the right way.😄

In all seriousness we would love if we could do it but that would be just way way way too much so we want to focus on doing the job the right way with blending city builder with grand strategy.

I'll have to pass on this one. Not being able to see the battle at different locations is a nogo for me. Good luck on the game.

Thank you for giving Kaiserpunk a shot, we do understand that every player has it's preferences and that we are not meeting yours, unfortunately.

So thank you for the best wishes, we wish you the same with your gaming.🙂

Personally, the lack of observation of battles doesn't bother me, I haven't seen them in Paradox games, the Civilization series or even in competitive city builders, and I expected them not to be the center of attention, apart from story cutscenes. It is primarily a city builder focused on active competition with AI on the world map, conquests and moving pawns around the map like a general managing the front line from his headquarters. Apart from the construction itself, the game offers engaging interaction in the form of competition with other countries on the map, and I like it - I have the impression that Kaiserpunk wants to fill the niche of citybuilders that provide a bit more depth than, for example, Cities Skylines, where only the economic aspect counts. In my opinion, this is what is missing on the market, and the fact that the times presented in the game refer to the times of World War I makes me very happy, because I think that these times are very neglected and not shown in detail compared, for example, to World War II. I would suggest that the creators prepare at least some elements depicting the march of troops from the city after the start of the offensive, or a more immersive presentation of this fact - after all, we create weapons ourselves and recruit specific troops, so I think many people would like to see something like this, this is of course a loose proposal. I would like to see a "suggestions" section on the forum, I have a few of them myself and I think others do too.

I do not want to present myself as the proverbial defender of creators, I am involved in many game modification projects, I spent a lot of time on cooperation in the form of testing pre-release products, and my professional life is largely based on testing, configuring and recommending various types of IT equipment, thanks to which you can say that "I'm on topic" - it's simply my opinion based on observations after a short test of this game and comparison with its counterparts. Like any human being, I may be right or wrong, but everyone can express their opinion.

We all agree on one thing - Kaiserpunk, regardless of who has already achieved which rating, requires the involvement of creators and the community. The game requires solid refinement of both pressing issues and content, I am personally giving it a chance and waiting for further development of the project. I also recommend noting that the developers have made a demo version of the game available so that everyone can get acquainted with the core around which the premiere version will be released - this is a very nice move, considering the recent actions of other studios on the market.

Sorry for probably some incoherent and illogical sentences, I use a translator because my English needs improvement.

This is text that is very well put together and we do appreciate your support very much. It is very nice to hear you are liking the demo and the idea of a game in general, this is something we love to see.🙂

The idea was to get general public involved in the process of making Kaiserpunk and to hear their suggestions and thoughts so we can make a better game so hopefully we will get a lot of info that will help us in further development of Kaiserpunk.

So when it comes to your suggestion, do I understand it correctly that you want some kind of cut scene every time the army is deployed from your city into the World map? Or is it just the first you deploy your army to the World map, that you would love to see troops marching? (maybe this would be a better option?) 🙂

@cobra_overseergames
Probably it would be wise to note where you are showing the action cutscenes on the game's page, clarify that there will not be RTS combat right there,
just to avoid future problems when you launch in early access.
Good luck with the development.

Exactly! There were about 2-3 short cutscenes of the army marching out of the province or city, of course the army was shown according to conscription, i.e. if there were, for example, 6 infantry units and 2 tanks, these units would be shown similarly, they have artillery in the army instead of tanks, it would be she is shown instead of tanks and so on. It's about pure immersion in the game, a kind of reward for creating a production chain and recruiting a powerful army. It would also be nice to be able to designate some area as a training ground, although implementation here may be more difficult. The army could organize field exercises in a place designated by the player (on the city screen, of course).

Ok, noted, we will put this in our "notebook" and talk about what can we do and how can we implement this in the game or can we even implement this in the game, no promises if we are going to make it but a really cool suggestion.🙂
