They do look quite empty and yes, this will definitely be something that will be improved in future. The mission generation system can already place things like farms, power stations etc on the Central Libya map so the only thing holding it back is actually having the 3D models.
Roads are a little different but will be added during the sector system update as the roads will link sectors and provide a way for vehicles (e.g. supply convoys) to travel between sectors.
Also, with the new bubble system it will be possible to have other units going about their business without it having to much impact on performance so you can expect to see fixed wings, armoured vehicles etc all moving around not to mention allied ground forces!
I will be focusing on the new sector system once I'm back from holiday. This in itself will make areas more interesting as each sector will contain important installations etc and these will become the focal points of random missions and also for the dynamic campaign.
Central Libya already has proceedural villages dotted around so really it just needs more variations nd the number dialing up
There will be - I think Lush Desert will get dropped as really it has been superceeded by Central Libya and it was the 1st terrain I did using random generation.
This will then be replaced by something else - I'm not 100% sure yet but probably something european-ish.
After that we'll see how much time creating new maps takes.
