Multiplayer
The asynchronous multiplayer version go the game has the following benefits boardgame play or Vassal.

- mitigate the risk of errors or cheating.

- less housekeeping with rules. Supply, retreat, scenario rules, etc.. may be something difficult to apply as designed by the rules.

- you don't need to personally any opponent before starting a game. You may play against anyone, against a previous opponent or just search someone by its nickname.

- the game state is automatically saved into the cloud each time you roll a die or complete a phase. You don't have to copy and send it by email. Email is just used to send "your turn to play" notifications.

- when the mobile version will be live, you may play on any device and gets access to a larger number of players.

- rules evolves faster then the boardgame. If players provide constructive feedback, balancing changes will be delivered as a timely manner.

- find experienced and challenging human opponent. All scenarios playable.

Alternative : you may play simultaneously with a friend by launching a solo game. Share screen and/or control (via TeamViewer for instance) so that each side play its turn.

You may find the MP system has some room for improvement and you will be right.

Great. Please do more games like this in the future. Board game ports I mean.

Do you have a replay feature? This is something critical for proper enjoyment of the game. To replay the opponents previous turn, rather than looking at text based reports. Good example is John Tiller games.

There is no REPLAY feature for the moment.
I guess we should first collect player"s needs and example and then see what if feasible to do .

It is not so simple - technically and functionally- because on this game, you don't move corps or task forces, you move plenty of strength points which may combine, detach, appear as reinforcement, be lost during forced marching, cancel their move, load cargo into transport, etc...

Also there are already a lot of back and forth between the 2-players, especially during battles. We should be cautious not to add to heavy replays.

John Tiller must have been a genius. He had replays in his games from 30 years ago. Very few have been able to emulate his code.

@micha_cat Do you have an example of game from JT, still available on Steam and using SP or something similar ?
lecrop 24 AGO 2023 a las 1:33 a. m.
The fact that it doesn't have replay is a problem. I hope that at least you can see some kind of report about what happened in the opponent's turn (battles and movements).

JT games are not on Steam, they have their own website (https://wargameds.com/). You can download a demo and see how the nice replay system works in pbem.

I'd love to see multi multi player! Ie more than two players in the GC.

It would be nice if when playing in multiplayer you don't have to exit and re-enter the scenario, and it would update directly. That would be great when both players can simultaneously spend a longer time playing the game.
laramieela 13 OCT 2023 a las 7:02 p. m.
You can do this if you are both playing live. I have found the opponent repopulates as soon as he plays even if I am still in the game, not our game, but the game.
lecrop 14 OCT 2023 a las 12:29 p. m.
Not in our case. We are playing the campaign and I need to exit the scenario and reenter (is not necessary quitting the game, only the scenario)

Hello! Can anyone tell me why there arent so many multyplayer games? Ican see only the one i created. Not many players or strong community for war and peace? Its a shame , its so wonderful game.
Also i want to say to the developers that the game should looks like Axies and Allies. The players can control the time for each turn so you can for example make a turn in 5 or 4 minutes. i think war and peace is a wonderful game but it needs wors on multyplayers system. You should first do something about this and then take care of the AI.
