Geneforge 1

Is there a way to run this game in a windowed mode?
Title.

I tried using DXwnd, as the post suggested, but when I try launching the game, it opens a window and promptly crashes (a fantasy game has stopped working). Maybe there's something wrong in the settings... but I have no idea what.

D3Dwindower works no problem. In settings you will need to check 'clip cursor' though.

Instructions are weird but you just run as admin, add the game .exe with the plus button then press the play button then press the little computer button.

Even if I right click on the D3DWindower executable and tell it to run as administrator, it gives me an error that "Administrator rights needed to start hook" when I press play. Pressing the computer afterward tells me that Steam isn't running.

This, however, works great. Just make sure that when Geneforge asks about changing resolution you tell it to do so.
