so the music and some of the sounds are not the original i remember from my childhood, for eample eggman used to have a really "WOA HOA HOA" laugh he used in all the boss fights and i remember particularly liking the music for the water zone

can it be changed?

I dont think so matte... The game is not to be exactly like the original version, it has some changes, and one of them is the sounds ;)
Enjoy it, the game is cool anyway :)

Do you mean the soundtrack or the sound effects?
The soundtrack can be changed from the main menu between the US and the JP/EU soundtrack.
The JP/EU soundtrack misses the singing in the intro and ending song but that can be fixed with a mod.
