You have to choose between US and JP OST.

Wouldn't be nice to have an option to manually mix the tracks we want to play between them?

For example, JP menu theme isn't much of my taste, but I really love the US one. I love all JP stages songs but not US's. I love Sonic Boom but not the JP intro song, to mention a few examples.

Sometimes I believe certain tracks from the US release should have belonged to the JP one.

Mix the tracks in what way? Would the game randomly choose them?

I've actually done a series where I've played without audio then edited in the music from both tracks. One plus is no bad boss music (jp doesnt suit a boss... na version is just scary). If you want to give it a look, see it here. This is the first episode of a seven part series, I hope you enjoy it.

That you'd manually choose which track you'd like to play on each stage. For example, have Palmtree stage 1 from JP and Stage 2 from US, for example.

I did the same but actually swapping tracks on the SegaCD version. Not bad at all and you don't lose the boss battle musics.
