Will this work offline?
I know this is single player but as someone who bought and loved the single-player/coop DLC for Battleborn and can't play it anymore, I don't trust the game industry anymore.

Will this be playable offline? (If not, thanks for the warning.)

It will work offline, yes. There's been confirmation that it isn't always-online, and that it has no in-game store of any kind.
