The idea being good means you will have good sales is just as silly as the go woke go broke sillyness. Plenty of good games, movies, books etc fail. Some get recognized as people discover them later on. Plenty are simply forgotten about.
There isn't a single thing that gaurantees success or failure. It is a very complicated reality that is silly to try and break down to something as simple as "if it is good it will sell well" or "go woke, go broke".
Absolutely there is not 1 thing, as I said FIFA isn't very good and still sells well, the opposite can be true where the game is good but doesn't sell well a good example being Alan Wake because of it's niche style of game yet everyone who has played it has very few negatives to say.
I feel like it would have sold more if they simply allowed it on Steam. I love Remedy and thought it looked really good, so I bought it on Epic but I know multiple people who skipped it for that reason alone. But that still doesn’t explain (presumably) poor sales on console.
What's it like to have your head so far up your arse in politics all the time? Must be exhausting right?
- Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account.
- Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA, Immortals of Aveum™ EULA.
- EA Play subscription requires acceptance of EA Play Terms.
- $59.99
Is EA literally asking players to stay away from this game? that seems to be the case.
It doesn’t require an EA account, it launches from Steam and you don’t even need the EA app installed. It’s been on sale numerous times for less than half price. I paid under $25 for it.
How can you list that it costs $60 and complain about EA Play? It’s one or the other but not both.
It much suck to be you to see world through gender or skin color
You are no better then these "woke" people,
There is a problem with modern western games and the writing, but it’s mostly that it’s low-quality with marvel MCU-style dialogue. The problem isn’t the ethnic groups of the characters, but these people are constantly being primed by Grummz on Twitter and Side Scrollers, Geeks and Gamers, The Quartering, Melanie Mac, and all the rest of them. They put out rage bait on the daily which plays into these conservative gamers’ prejudices. It’s hard to combat though because their arguments do have *some* truth to them. Because there is a growing divide between game developers and what they want to create vs the average gamer and what they want to play. It’s irresponsible to be ignoring this discrepancy, even if the loudest voices are right wing chuds with low IQs.
This one here is a good example of the ones I’m talking about. Just read through a couple of pages of his post history, it speaks for itself.
game was a massive flop, adding denuvo drm and current price didn't help at all and no surprise that the only people saying otherwise have the mouse icon (biased mindset, aka defend the purchase).
I didn’t say Denuvo helped anything, but without it, the game still would have flopped. Steam is its own form of DRM, which is why I think it’s weird to make such a big deal about Denuvo. Gog is completely DRM free and look at the difference in market share between Steam and Gog. Some people care a lot about DRM but they’re a small fraction of the userbase of Steam. No one likes DRM or Anti-Cheat but it’s just part of modern gaming on PC and if people really want to play something, those things will not stop them or hurt sales. It’s just a weird focal point for certain gamers for some reason, I think it’s just an excuse to complain or say “I would buy it if it didn’t have X thing”. For you, it’s Denuvo. For the Compass guy, it’s LGBT/people of color/Sweet Baby Inc/etc in games. Just something to whine about.
