it does and doesn't - having to manually DL files from XYZ will never be preferred over the game just being fixed. and with the old version of the file the compass still has a little fuzzyness to it that's not there with native or dlss rendering.
frame gen is ... close, but IMHO it's not quite there yet. and that's ok! that i can sacrifice some visual perfection to hammer down more visual fps is a treat. i can't wait till we see what dlss 3.5 has to offer. exciting time to be a gamer for sure.
Frame Gen is flawless in most games it’s been implemented in now.
not on my display (48" c1 oled) sadly - with vsync needing to be off, frame gen introduces tearing. and this display is perfect when vsync and gsync are both on and i'm in the 60 to 100fps range. above that the returns don't even exist, let alone diminish... and i sit close, and i'm a pixel peeping tom.
hogwarts, 2077, aveum and i honestly stopped testing - it feels floaty and i couldn't get rid of the tearing. and i tried for too many hours to do just that...
it was cool to turn it on in 2077 and mess around with the full path tracing stuff... but meh, it still "felt" off, slightly floaty. i like tight controls. floaty is for luigi back in mario 2 :)
are you using a keyboard and mouse or a controller? i found that the mouse movement feels off and the devs said they are patching that soon. maybe even tomorrow?
but controller feels really smooth for me, i set it to 2k/120 and general gameplay is dead smooth. there are some stutters but the are usually around transition areas when assets are going to load...
What are you talking about? Force vsync in NVCP and it works with gsync to cap the refresh at 117 for optimal frame consistency. This works in tandem with Frame Gen
Wild that people can be so confidently wrong. People who have no idea what they’re talking about just spout complete disinformation.
You are supposed to use vsync with frame
Gen on freesync/gsync displays
On gsync/freesync display you should be using vsync with a frame cap under your max refresh anyway. With Frame Gen on, reflex will be on and reflex does it automatically with vsync enabled
i know how to configure a video game. i already, months ago, did all those things you just suggested with dlss 3. 4060, 4080 and 4090, i kept the 4080 but all of those cards have been in my hands and on this bench. i've tested all the spidermans, all the plague tales, all the hogwarts, all the forspokens, all the lasts of uses... and about, 35 other modern AAA and AA and A and indie and emulated and etc video games. starfield is installed and i will be playing tomorrow, please and thank you!
i literally do this for a living. i am currently surrounded by PC hardware and software and displays. all of which i spend a giant chunk of my day. fiddling with, configuring, fixing etc.
i am allowed an opinion right? great - well the measured lag of frame gen takes it off the almost flawless list for me. as i don't like lag. especially in a game where i am literally constantly swinging the camera around. like say the fps aveum.
i'm not going to "adjust" to the lag either. because i have 100 other games installed and i don't have to adjust for those... my display and card and PC are all built for me to enjoy perfect visuals and perfect sound with perfect input. sorry that i personally have standards that don't apply to other people but that's literally how preferences work so... sorry not sorry...
imho - which i am allowed and i guess i have to remind people of - frame gen is about on par with the latest iteration of dlss 1.x - it is helpful, it is tolerable, it is good or even great in some situations. but it's not almost flawless. else i wouldn't be able to see all the flaws like the visual bugs and the input lag...
you can keep right on enjoying it, and i'll keep right on not enjoying it. but i won't tell you you can't enjoy it and you seem to be hell bent on telling me i'm doing something wrong because i don't? right... welp, hope you learned something... i didn't
I explained to you the truth. I explained why you’re wrong.
You can keep your head in the sand all you want.
Frame gen works in tandem with vsync + reflex to auto cap the max fps below max refresh to deliver optimal frame delivery
You’re wrong
Nvidia themselves recommend enabling vsync with frame gen
cause i can play other games that require DX12 to play them. now plz fix it
