How is that unreasonable? Like are devs not supposed to make games that target the CURRENT generation of consoles that is years old now? Is the 1060 the baseline forever?
Also, current gen consoles can't even use beyond 12gb for VRAM, mostly 10gb, and people starting to talk 16gb of VRAM will be norm and 20gb high end. Eh? I guess it's back to 30fps for shiny "new gen" consoles eh.
Sales will be fine. A 3060 is the most common graphics card on steam and is pretty comparable to a RX 5700XT or 2080 Super. The 3060 is also close to the same performance as a RTX 2060 Super. And a 1080Ti is more powerful.
Basically any 3000 series card better than the 3060 can run the game. Any RX 6000 card better than the 6600 can run the game. The GTX 1080 and 1080Ti are close to a 2080 Super (because than generation was just trash) can run the game. Apparently even the years old mid range RX 5700 XT can run the game. And cards that are slightly worse can still run the game with light up scaling so the 1070, 2060, and so on should be fine too. So who are you leaving out?
People with like a 1060 or worse basically. And at this point…ok? Most Steam users have a better card than that.
“You can see in other fantasy games where they backed off on some of the detail because it wasn’t practical,” Mark says. “We chose not to be practical. But in order to do all this we had to make the hard decision not to support older video cards and the previous generation of consoles."
Also, I would expect all high-end UE5 games to have similar minimum specs.
