Don't know why "Sir" is used a lot in Hollywood's movies & games.
Technically, its either ma'am or sir, it depends on what the female officer prefers and it is common practice for her to say which one it is when it comes up.
Never heard about the "prefer" thing in military, but ok, probably different army chapter by country.
It starts with a W.
I have known women in the military, some indeed prefer sir over ma'am, they just don't moan about it, they just say 'i prefer sir, over ma'am' maybe it is, modern crap as you put it, never do understand these changes, it just seems like a way to keep everyone on egg shells.
He made the preference thing up. It is either Sir for men or Ma'am for women.
No, it’s not. It’s Sir for men, Ma’am for women. Period.
Your thought is good Anakha.
This. ⤴
Erm... What??
There are untold thousands of female officers, of all rank in all militaries in the States, UK, Europe, and on and on. All referred to as "Ma'am."
All capable "soldiers," Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, etc.
This is "woke" plain and simple.
But having said that, it is soooo refreshing to see a protagonist, in a AAA game who is both male. and white.
And this is from a guy who used to pick FM characters in MMOs and the like- (the "id rather watch a fm etc...) -back when we had a choice.
Not when it was constantly the shoehorned "norm" of these past few years.
So Kudos, Ascendant Studios,- (the "sir thing" apart.) -
And, hopefully as the story unfolds it stays that way. 🤞
EDIT, also lol, does nobody here actually own the game?
