Keyboard controls?
What on earth are the keyboard controls for this game? I can't find documentation anywhere, and they're not mentioned in the tutorials. When they port a game to steam, how hard would it be to replace the picture of the xbox 360 controller with a keyboard?

I don't know I've changed it. I got a controler now so I don't use them anymore. I went with 'Q' and 'P' to switch panel and 'W', 'E', 'I' and 'O' for the arrow, pretty much like I play Stepmania on keyboard.
...
I just open the game and checked. I don't know know where the hell the control customasation went, but I swear I could set every key to my liking and even change how to cast spells with the controller... That's weird.

Do you have a Xbox 360 controler plug-in? It may stop you from setting the keyboard right : http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2754056

The controls are rebindible. For default you can use either WASD or Arrow keys to make the moves, you use 1 to 6 for selecting Spells and Q and E for switching between panels.

It turned out that I had an adapter plugged in that added a port for a PS2 controller, and that was screwing it up. I figured it out after searching the steam forums for thirty minutes or so. Removing it caused Sequence to realize I'd be using a keyboard. I still think the option should be included instead of trying to detect what the player wants.

They didn't even patch this ♥♥♥♥ ? Unacceptable. How could you press 2 opposed buttons at the same time on a d-pad / stick seriously ? It's not a game for a controller.

The controller works fine. You press doubles using the D-Pad and face buttons simultaneously.

I want to use the keyboard which is far better for this kind of game.
Really, i never saw a thing like that before. Plus you've a interface to bind the keys of the keyboard which is not always the case. That's just... Dammit, it's just an UI problem. I would love to know why it had never been patched.

As a rhythm gamer I would like to use keyboard controls without having to restart my computer every time I want to play this game to disable my controller drivers and stuff.

Is there any launch options we can set in steam to make it so it doesn't detect our controller or skips over it?

Why allow the game to use keyboard with controller connected but not allow it to be rebinded? Pretty silly if you ask me. Feels like a waste of money now.

I already checked but the answer is no unfortunately. And you can rebind your keys in fact. The problem is if you've a controller connected, you can't see nor rebind keyboard controls... Stupid stuff.

Have they talked about patching the controller plugged in problem?

The game has been released in 2011. Sure they didn't. And that's a shame for such an UI problem, really. The game is good but just this problem sucks a lot. I'm wondering if we can do some things with a RAM editor.

Oh, hey, it's my thread from like two and a half years ago! :cgpout:

Yeah, you've all come to the same conclusions I did. This is a sloppy port job, and the developer obviously did not/does not give a damn. I think the best we can do is to be wary of any future relases from Iridium, since this is not a small issue, and they obviously don't care much about fixing usability.

I'm sick of buying games that do this now.
Van helsing 1 and 2 did it. And like I said earlier I have to restart my computer to disable everything to play cause I use a different tool and rivers for controller. Atleast Van Helsing gave us a launch option we can enter into steam to not detect it but even that is annoying. Sequence has given us nothing, not purchasing from Iridium again until they fix this.

We do give a damn, but for various reasons, Sequence is not easily able to be patched at this time. My apologies for the issue.

Sorry, but that's hardly an acceptable answer.

Regardless, luckily I remembered that I had been faced with the same issue a while ago with another game, because Sequence's developers aren't the only ones neglecting to consider that just because one's controller is plugged in it means they want to use exclusively that.
After some googling I tracked down the satisfying workaround I had found last time: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24731058&postcount=9
Just unzip the contents of that file in Sequence's directory (or any other game marred by this lack of foresight) and the application will cease to detect XInput devices.

Thanks for the help, but i'm not sure to trust some dll files from an unknown guy. Maybe it'll work with the x360 xinput1_3.dll and his x360ce.ini, i'll check it later.
