Balrog's "Oh Yaaa!" instead of "Huzzah!"
Before I begin this rant, let me just say that playing for quite a while, from original translated freeware game to every version added to 3DS and Steam, so don't give me that "You didn't play the original so you don't understand!!!"

With that said, I can not, for the life of me, figure out why people are/were so angry at the text differences in the latest game releases compared to the original translated version. The game wasn't a LEGIT translation right? It was a FAN translation right? So everything said in the original could be a bit off, am I wrong? It's all this "ERMAHGERD NO HUZZAH IM HEARTBROKEN THIS VERSION SUX" that keeps slapping me in a face everytime I read something involving the new versions.
No offense to huzzah, but it seems like Im the only person here whos a big enough fan to buy the game over and over again thats actually NOT complaining about there being no "HUZZAH!" (to avoid unnecesary confusion, Im saying it SEEMS like Im the only person here who doesnt care about the no huzzah) If Pixel had anything to do with the creation of all these new versions, Im pretty sure he would have pointed out "Hey, thats supposed to be huzzah, and thats really important, so fix it."
And all these comparisons to the Kool-Aid man... MAYBE THAT WAS THE POINT. First time you see Balrog, he breaks through the door without opening it, just leaves a large rectagular hole in the wall, and yells "Oh Yaaaa!"
Hmmmm....
HMMMMMMM......
Sounds to me like someone thought it'd be funny to make a certain character pull a Kool-Aid man. Am I the only one who thinks that?

Either way, I just needed to get a rant out of me so I could sleep at night, so if this huzzah thing really broke your heart and you think that I need to pay for being a non-believer, remember that.
But seriously.
Come on guys.
Its gonna be okay.

It only REALLY Works the 1st Time, When Toroko gets Kidnapped
After that it's a bad joke
Yaaa I can agree with that. It's totally worth it though, I mean think about all the walls that could have been broken. Poor walls must have been scared out of their minds when they saw Balrog coming by..

Kids these days don't know about Kool-Aid Man. It's a sad state of affairs.

I totally agree with you. I never understood the huzzah war. I've played all versions as well and, if anything, I like the oh yeah better.

I think the "Huzzah" fits Balrog more, but then again, yeah, it's only a fan translation, yet fans think it's the actual game.
Tell ya what? I found out that Pixel actually planned Balrog to say Oh Yeah originally, but the fan translation was wrong and translated that as Huzzah. Strange, isn't it?

Just do what I do and imagine Balrog pronouncing "Oh Yeah" the way Randy Savage did.

I don't understand why people get so angry either. However, I don't see why they bothered changing it from "Huzzah" to "Oh Yeah" just for a reference to Kool Aid Man. Also, Balrog has no real catchphrase in English because his actual dialogue in Japanese is a war cry that has no English translation so just imagine him saying anything you want him to say.

"Huzzah!" is more original than "Oh Yeah!". It makes Balrog look like the Kool AId Man than a toaster lunchbox or a bag or whatever he is.

I had never played the freeware version, so when I got this game on Steam during one of those sales, I thought he yelled "Oh yeah" in all versions. Also, I used to think that "Huzzah" was just a meme that people made up, because I remember reading about a Let's Player who played this game and said "Huzzah" a lot as he was doing so.

I think it's more the fact that in the years between the fan translation and the official translation being released, Balrog and his Huzzah had become kind of a meme amongst the community, so that's why a lot of people were upset about it. It was pretty much his catchphrase after all.

That said, it's really not a big deal, especially as it's possible to patch the PC version of Cave story + with the fan translation.

I just played this game for the first time ever this week and to me it was an obvious parody of the Kool-Aid man. They both have bulky bodies with giant, animated (figuratively speaking) faces and use walls instead of doors. So no, I don't think you're alone in the belief that this was an intentional reference.
