Your weapons and boosters for hard mode.
Hello, I think this is my first time making a forum here so sorry if I make any mistakes.

So I have two saves for getting three achievements: I like it hard, untouchable, and unstoppable. One save is hard mode, and the other is easy mode without getting any life capsules. Obviously, I thought it'll be best if I try to get the untouchable and hardmode achievements with the first save, and get unstoppable with the second. Is this how all of you guys got these achievements, too? Did anyone just play hardmode and get the unstoppable achievement? Did you get the untouchable achievement in easy mode?

How's the tricky part I have to ask you guys. I think there's three main choices I have to make playing each of these saves. Booster 0.8 or 2.0? Machine gun, snake, or spur? And the blade or the nemesis?

There are each weapon and item's usefulness to consider, but there are other factors, too. For example, I will have to fight the Red Ogre if I get the Booster 2.0. Also, I can get the whimsical star if I have both Booster 2.0 and the Spur.

Are there any other factors to consider?

Thank you for reading my wall of text, haha.

For the most part - always get v2.0, and use the missilies / sword (lv 1 and 2) / Spur.
These are the only weapons you'll need to master the game, plus, the v2.0 booster is necessary or the best endings.

As for unstoppable - get it once you've fully mastered everything else in the game, otherwise expect enough ragequit to halt your progress forever. And yes... do it on Easy mode... that extra hit counts more than you think.

I recommend clearing the game once and S ranking all the challenges before going for Unstoppable.
Thank you! I already beat the game before, but I lost my save, so I'm going and doing it all over. I presume I need to beat Ballos to get the challenges? (I can look up a guide for this.) I guess I'll start putting more focus on re-unlocking the challenges and giving them all plenty of tries.

Also, do you even recommend getting the v2.0 booster where the best ending isn't necessary: the Untouchable and I Like It Hard achievements?

Sightly off-topic, but I couldn't get the "Curse Broken" achievement the first time I beat Ballos, now that my save has somehow been wiped since the last time I played the game (it was a long time ago), would there be a possibility I can get it this time? Any way to ensure I get the achievement? I need that achievement so badly!!! It must be gotten!!!

TBH my first blind run was on HM with v0.8 booster and Curly's machine gun. Yeah... a true blind run.
There isn't much of a difference difficulty-wise between v0.8 and v2.0 besides the final cave and having to play a little longer without a booster midgame, so it's totally up to you.

"Curse Broken" is also an "Achievement Broken", I had my account in Astats flagged because I've unlocked it with SAM. So I had to revert this action to remove the flag. It is a known bug, so you won't be any diffeent from anyone else for not having it. (Astats still consider the game as 100% without it)
Adding up the fact that (obviously) booster 2.0 is better than 0.8, I guess I should just go with 2.0 then. I just thought the hidden final cave would be WAY more difficult than the normal final cave.

I initially thought maybe I should get booster 2.0 and while I don't have a booster, I would use curly's gun to make the first parts easier. Of course, that means I'll be going through the hidden final cave. And even if I'm not getting the final ending (which is what I was considering with this setup), I suppose the difference between using the spur and curly's gun would be big.

In fact... I'm an idiot. It's the later part of the game that's going to be most difficult. That's the part I should be trying to make easier. If I can't get through the midgame with some added difficulty here and there, how the hell would I get any of these achievements?!

Besides, trying to cut down on difficulty on a game all about being challenging is kinda wrong. By the time I'll get those S rank achievements, I'll probably know well what to do.
