How do YOU control Cave Story?

Do you use a keyboard or a gamepad? Do you have any custom controls and if you do, what are they?

I don't remember if I set new controls or not but I play with a gamepad.

I use keyboard with controls rebound to WASD movement, J for Jump, H for shoot, Y and U to change weapons, and tab for menu.

arcade stick using four buttons in straight line. Shoot, jump, swap L, swap R

I wanted to play it with my xbox 360 controller ( playing on a macbook). but I wasn't able to open doors and the game crashed when I wanted to go back to main menu. now I play with the standard keyboard settings

If you want to play it with an xbox 360 controller you can!!!! Just download Enjoy2 and

I play normally, but for Hell runs I use WASD to move, Left click to shoot, rightclick to change weapons, space is also binded to W, shift for inventory, tab for map.

This is the ONLY platformer that I simply can't use a controller with. It feels too weird.

I think that's because I've been a fan of Cave Story since the start, and as such, the keyboard controls are just too ingrained. I got this on 3DS, and I'm terrible at it. I need my keyboard. lol

The game was designed for the keyboard (and my PC controller is broken.
