i defeated monster x, went to the next room, talked to the guy who fell and got the booster, went back up to the boulder room but it suggests i need two people. do i need curly? i got her the cure all thing awhile ago but it didnt do anything.

By the way, I'm no sure if you care, but talking to the guy (Professor Booster) caused him to die, and has locked into place quite a few events down the line.

i talked to her, but she still says she would be more of a burden. so i really have to restart the game then?

After you've talked to Curly, check the boulder room again.

i actually havent touched the game again yet lol and on my next file dont take machine gun? changes future outcomes?

It doesn't have any story significance, but skipping the mahcine gun gives you access to one of two other powerful weapons.
