Getting the Polar Star back

Hello,, I was wondering if I can trade in my machine gun back for the Polar Star. I read that I could have received the Spur later in the game by trading in my Polar Star at that point of the game, but I already saved after I got my machine gun.

Sorry but you're locked into the machine gun if you get rid of the polar star. I would actually reccommend restarting as you have no chance of beating the later levels without the spur.

Sorry but you're locked into the machine gun if you get rid of the polar star. I would actually reccommend restarting as you have no chance of beating the later levels without the spur.

Are you sure? I have heard that the machine gun is recommended for a first playthrough of this game, and I don't think that this weapon would be recommended for people if it made the game unbeatable.

Do you plan on getting the best ending? With the Blood Stained Sanctuary and whatnot?

Don't worry. Even if, by chance, you stumble onto the true ending path during your first playthrough, the game is still beatable with the machine gun. In fact, it's even the weapon of choice for speedrunners since it makes it much easier to move around in the early game.

Well it's basically a really tough final level for those who go out of their way to torcher themselves with it. Personally i think that, even on a first run, the Spur would be vital to success in the Sanctuary. For now i would say that you go through with your current run, and then if you want the challenge then go and get the spur that time.
