Not only am I not sure if I want to buy this, but i'm aware of the Nintendo switch port. I am considering getting a switch and am not sure if it is in my best interest to buy this.

The Switch version is pretty much the best version of the game. If you're getting a Switch anyway, you might want to hold off for that.

You can also try the original Windows freeware version of Cave Story for now if you want. Here's a comparison of the different versions:

I would say that their pretty much the same, except the switch has 2 player and pc can be modded

Switch would be better for graphics and a few minor changes but if you cant get a switch this is the 2nd best because of challenges other versions dont have this PC would be better if you have no switch (and im not sure if Switch has challenges im too poor to afford one XD)

Someone just recommended this game to me. I actually never noticed this game before and I'm now interested. I have a Nintendo Switch. But this game's Switch version is way more expensive (29.99USD). So I decided to buy this PC version that costs a lot less. Besides, on Steam you can refund if you don't like it, while you cannot if you buy a Switch game.
