Hello there! Do you love Cave story? Have you ever played the original download? Ever wish for a sequel or more story?

Well with a bit of modding, a mod that is so well made that it feels like a sequel to Cave story exists!

Jenkas nightmare; A cave story mod that gives you even more story than before!

The mod takes place a year after the island was saved by our dynamic duo, Curly and Quote. They along with Balrog live peacefully together with the island in view.. after an uncomfortably short period of relaxation time, they're transported back to the island without warning and split up in the labyrinth like caves! The only hint you have to the culprit... Jenkas Nightmare...

Honestly, don't try it then. Jenka's nightmare doesn't have an easy mode and it's harder than the original cave story (and if you try the true ending, it's WAY harder than Cave Story).

So long as you have learned the ropes of Cave story, I suggest giving it a shot! But yes, you should play the game the way it was intended before Jenka's Nightmare!

I beat CS easy mode for normal ending. Right now, I try the hard mode. To my surprise I only get 3 HP and almost every enemy hit is a one kill.
The most annoying part in this mode is that I can't skip cutscene/animation before boss fight. Is there any mod to skip the cutscene?

I honestly suggest the original mode... Hard mode is basically going through the game with no rocket launcher and only 3 health.. I also highly suggest you try to finish the game through the hidden 3rd ending. But PLEASE do not play hard mode unless you are very familiar with the game. VERY familiar.

btw, in the store page it is listed to have four unique endings. but many people and wiki say it has only three endings (bad, normal, and best). how so?

The fourth ending may be a mod. You're hearing this from a person who's played the original cave story, cave story 3D, Cave story +, Jenka's nightmare and has not failed to finish all three different endings in each game. (Plus the fourth ending in the fourth ending original cavestory mod)

Woah, youre def a pro. I first got the game on my DSI XL around 7 years ago. I played it non stop. Got it on my 3DS. Then on my computer. I still cant dare to try hard mode

Trust me I havent tried hard mode 100% either lol. closest I got was Balfrog. But still :P

I feel like I remember reading someone's comment, guide, or lore post somewhere about a "fourth" ending as well. My memory might be off, but I seem to remember reading that they technically counted falling off the tower and getting the 'You were never seen again.' text as a fourth possible ending.

I disagree, but I thought it might be nice to share.

That fourth ending was a joke. Go far enough off the outter Wall and you’ll get it? That was fake.

No, it's they count getting the normal ending while wearing the Mimiga mask as its own ending. Even though all it does is change the images in the credits.
