No icon for desktop
When I "Create Desktop Shortcut" through the Library menu, it's just a "blank sheet of paper" icon, not the thing that's shown on the Steam Library entry. Game's been out for a while, I'd have thought this would have been caught by now.

Considering that there is still a broken achievement I doubt this game is will ever get fixed.

As well as an achievement that apparently won't unlock, and one without an icon. My hopes are quite low.

When applying a BMP file as an icon be sure to change the bottom right option from "Icon Files" to "All Files" or else it won't show up

Assuming you're on Windows, right-click the desktop shortcut and select "Properties". In the window that appears, select "Change Icon...", then "Browse...", and go to the directory Julia provided (the exact location of which will depend on where your Steam library is installed). Now, as BradOreman mentioned, be sure to select "All files" in the drop-down menu in the bottom right so the BMP shows up. Double-click "icon.bmp" then "OK" your way out of all the windows.

I don't actually have an folder for Cave Story+ in steam's files because I downloaded it through Epic Launcher because it was free... do you know if Epic has a similar solution? Or maybe I can get the one from Steam and use it for the one from Epic?

If you go to your epic games install directory there should be a "CaveStoryPlus\data" folder that contains the same files as the steam version.

Okay, where would I find that file? Would it be in Program Files (x86)? I did look there and the epic games folder didnt have any game files of any kind, so I am not sure I know where tho find the "install directory"

I actually made a custom icon and used a site called ico convert, it's handy and fun to make custom desktop icons.
