In an interview two days ago, Paul Cuisset said that Flashback 2 (2023) is a direct sequel to the 1992 game. According to the same interview, the Fade to Black (1995) events basically occured 50 years later. Source: Julien Chièze's YouTube channel.
Of course, Uncle Google's subtitles might help some people.
So the three games got their own events & stories.
Edit: only Flashback (2013) was a remake.
All the Best.
Note | About Fade to Black, only one person, 23/24 years after the original release, tried to change the name by paying for some rights before trying to make some money with a Dreamcast re-release (a quarter of century later, imagine how greedy this was) actually even ridiculously & absurdly "known" under at least three different names lol.
This new Flashback looks barely average to me.
Allé Paul Cuisset , refais nous Fade to Black !
In the end of Flashback he wasn't in a "shuttle to Earth" like the trailer of this game suggests.
The only way they will make this make any sense is if, indeed ,this one ends with him in Cryo... again. Which will feel forced as heck.
I have to agree with this, moving F2B in the future makes no sense.
if you watch the intro for F2B, it clearly says that coonrad has been drifting in space for 50 years.

I'm not sure how flashback 2 really works out, when he been drifting in space for all that time. Unless he goes back into cryo at the end of 2? Still, doesn't make much sense.
