Rule the Waves 3

money cheat ?
hi, just wondering if there is a cheat or a way to increase your income for the player? seems the income of the ai countries is broken when they can build up to seven battleships at once.
i tried the save file thing but unsuccessful. unsure if im doing it wrong or it no longer works.

Save file editing is the answer.
Either direct modification of your nation's funds or there's another field whose name eludes me its the nations general economic position.
Then save the text file and reload the game.
Yes, you want to modify either BaseResources or Funds for Nation0.

It isn't recommended to modify the BudgetModifier value as this changes regularly anyway.

To tack on above, you need to modify your RTWGame(Slot).bcs file, and edit either:

Funds:
- Your direct funds. Remember not to go overboard over your max funding as it will be taken away as your nation thinks you're hoarding it for no reason.
BaseResources:
- Your max funds/monthly income, usually a 6 digit number. I advise only adding in excess of 4 digit, +1000 - +2000 or so as I think its an exponential function that less is more.
BudgetModifyer:
- How much "taxes" are taken away by your nations total GDP. Cant spend it all on the navy of course. I think it ranges from 5-30, where the higher the number, the more of it goes to the navy. Be extra careful with this one as it can break your income and actually bug out with infinite money after reaching over 1M monthly available budget.
hi, thanks for the info. it finally worked. Think my biggest issue was the way it saved. When i found the funds, i changed it then hit save as. That took it to a text doc file . I then just hit safe and it worked. lol.
im not very tec smart unfortunately.
.
Any way to increase number of ships that can be built? See in game it limits total tonnage. Nerveless, just increasing my income will be a huge benefit.
Now only if we can get rid of budget cutbacks and liberals. Kind of reminds me of Canada . lol.
Increasing dockyard size should increase buildable yard space too. Should be another line in the save.bcs.

Unless you're talking about treaties, which may be another separate line, but I just start games without treaties unless the challenge is wanted.
any way to speed up research or ship construction?

ResearchSpeed can be increased globally.
ResearchPct can be set by nation.
Any given Research can be toggled on or off. If you know what researches you want.

Toggling EfficientShipbuildingIndustry on is the only thing I am aware of that changed construction speed.

That's the only way to buff a nation's overall shipbuilding speed. However, progress on individual ships under construction can be freely edited under the individual ship's entry in the .bcs file:
  1. Ctrl+F search the name of a ship under construction, being careful that you're not accidentally looking at the entry for an old ship with the same name - double check the date it was laid down.
  2. Within that entry, locate the BuildProgress line. This should be 0 if the ship was laid down that month, and a nonzero value if it has some construction progress on it already.
  3. Increase the BuildProgress value as desired. DDs seem to finish at about 10,000 "points" of build progress; larger ships can take up to 100,000. Save and load the file.
  4. Check the construction screen to see that your edit was successful. If you increased the build progress by a lot, the months remaining value may be negative. This does not seem to break anything - the ship will simply be completed next month.

what also works is to increase your funds with cheat engine, atleasts in rule the waves 2. your budget will sink but if you freeze them its not a problem really.

As far as I have ascertained, ships are completed when Ship[X]BuildProgress is equal to or greater than Ship[X]Cost (the line immediately above)

If you don't want to change game files (which I don't recommend), download cheat engine and manually add more funds. Just get the address of your funds and then change the current one with a big enough number, that should allow you to go through the whole game, and if you somehow run out of money, you can just add more funds with the same method

You know that both the game and the cheat engine regularly edit the file in question.
Doing it yourself isnt really an issue.

There's nothing wrong with editing the save game file - I'v done it a million times and never had a problem. Go to Documents\My Games\Rule the Waves 3\Save, go to the latest game save folder, and edit the RTWGame[savegame#].bcs

Give yourself 999999999 ($999mil) funds and 90k docks

have fun - having unlimited money doesn't win you the game
