Average number of Minesweepers per area
Hello, what is the average amount of minesweepers one needs to have in any area you intend to fight in during wars? Of course, this number increases if the enemy deploys mining ships, yet I'm curious, for there must be an amount players tend to commonly deploy, right?

Depends on the size of the minesweeper - larger vessels are more capable, as shown by their mine-sweeping score (in the Area tab), but I'd recommend something like 0.5 per size of game (rounding up) and at least 2x that number for your home area.

0.5 per size of game? What do you mean by that? What is the number per size of game I need to compare to?
Example: if the size of the game is medium and that equals let us say 10, then I would need to have 0.5 = 5 minesweepers in most areas while having 10 in my home area.
Also, if bigger ships are more capable minesweepers, which class of ships should I use for the job then: AMC, or KE? I ask because right now, I use KE as my minesweepers.

By size of game I'm simply counting straight down.

Very Small = size 1
Small = size 2
medium = size 3
etc.

I use KEs for the MS role as well. Personally, I use a 1,600t design because of a habit from RtW2 where I could take a 1,600t KE with Colonial Service for a 2,000t contribution to area tonnage requirements, although that doesn't work so well in RtW3.

After checking the old thread - https://nws-online.proboards.com/post/88880 - turns out that's a waste of time as minesweeping reaches the maximum of 26 points at 1,000t.

Same here funny enough.

While i wouldn't know what to tell you, id say maybe have 10 or so is a good start, KEs or DDs with minesweeping gear hanging around at all times. Given KEs are not really meant for Battle (and you can use them easily for colonial Stations at 1600 tons plus Colonial service for 2000 tons of foreign tonnage), probably best to put the mine sweeping gear on them.

Although DDs with mine sweeping gear are not hard to make, they just have less ASW value as result, and both ship types are cheep as dirt so their is KINDA no reason not have alot of them (other then your budget constraints) as i said, i wouldn't know, not like the game tells you anything beyond "ships equipped with mines lay mines and ships with mine sweeping gear sweep mines".

Thanks for the replies. I will have them in mind as I build my minesweeping KE fleet.
