For info, iirc, if you click on the region square it will show ASW values and where they are coming from.
I personally prefer dedicated 900t ASW KEs. There is an opinion that 900 DDs (aka DEs) will work fine too.
If you enable auto ASW management, AI will move your TP vessels around the regions countering enemy subs' moves.
If it does, I'd expect torpedo bombers to be the best option (torpedo bombers, despite the name, are mostly generalist light bombers).
However, CVLs seem unlikely to be cost effective ASW considering the high price of aircraft maintenance and the low price of DD/KE maintenance.
