1890-1900
1950-1970.

Low end introduces what I think are some novelties about low end naval guns, among other things.

High end introduces a lot of aircraft and missile systems rules.

Submarines are a bit less abstracted. They actually have locations now.

There's actually a document all about answering this, let me see if I can find a link.

EDIT: Nevermind, beaten to it with the link.

RTW3 is basically an expansion to RTW2 pushing the timeline to 1970 with added features, like divisions and commanders.

Regarding it being more expensive. Well, I bought RTW for $30, RTW2 for $35 and RTW3 for $40. All and all RTW 3 cost me $105.

I think EU4 milked me for $250+. Total War Warhammer I had to buy 3 times too, lol.

RTW3 literally started out as plans for an expansion to RTW2 before at some point evolving into a sequel instead.

Yeah but I think it has added enough content to warrant a full release.

In RTW 2, I was able to exert some control tension with other countries through intelligence operations. This is very difficult to do now.....my spys are not getting caught very often. The events where you can single a country out as threat and got up ++ on tension with them has far more limited options of who you can pick. I spent 20 years with the only selectable country being USA {England campaign}.

Your engines wear out and you loose speed after about 10 years. To get the speed back you have to refit with "Replace Machinery" which is costly and takes longer.

Gun research seemed slow but this is no variance setting and I am not sure if this has anything to do with it.

ASW seems FAR more dangerous to subs. I just had a 10 month war and 18 of their 25 subs were sunk without any torp hits on my ships. I did have a LOT more ships on TP than needed.

The ship drawings are much better.

A better game. One issue I had was that I needed to click twice in the pre-game building of the Legacy fleet to change names. This was more time consuming than I wanted but I guess I could just wait till after the game officially starts to rename them.

More precisely, this is based on engine quality. 'Speed' engines deteriorate faster, 'Reliable' engines more slowly.
