do you know the exact details of tech variation? what does it influence and how much?
No idea, but since you can see the percentages, it's a pretty safe bet these will be adjusted.
The game is assigned a random number between either 0 and 9 or 1 and 9 (0 being 'normal tech', so I am not sure if this is actually an option).
Each of those values assigns a different overall rule to the game, for example one of those rules is that single gun turrets perform much better than multi-gun turrets.
I have seen a post somewhere trying to identify these, if I find it again I'll post a link.
