Beside this, Steam forums (as well as Matrix's) are great, and this is precisely where the game is sold, not on discord.
I have made that same argument elsewhere about another game. You look at their steam site and it looks like a dead page. As a new player I will normally see that as being a dead or dying game.
As an older player, I manage to be on some discord spaces and that really is against my personal preference for the most part. I only went because of a support need and that was where you were told to go.
There is a much wider "potential" audience on Steam. Discord serves its purpose, but I would also argue that Steam should be the priority assuming one wants a larger and growing community. Discord has power, but it is effectively only a messaging tool, not the game platform. It is great as a tool for players and the community who wish to use it. However, well managed Steam forums are invaluable imo for exposure.
