Well yeah you won't find many people online that far and still play, they probably only farm, but there are no NG's above NG+5. NG+6 is the same thing as NG+5 and so on. They (Runic) didn't continue the numbering system really, and NG+5 is kinda just a title to say, yay I survived past NG+4 :)

Always optional to go into NG of any playthrough. People have found they can get to 100 without going too far through the NG's. Personally when I can be bothered I'll run a proper char and get up to NG+5 and then keep going, just for the fun of it, if I want to farm when I'm bored :)

reality is no players to play with, no joy to play. even at NG++ seldom or no more groups showing in the multiplayer list. so people rather stick at playing NG or NG+, butmostly NG and just recyle or try new characters.

Runic must provide some premium or motivation for people to move up to higher NG+++ levels, kinda like a big super Monster Boss, or monsters that only shows up on NG++++, etc.. then people will try to achieve that goal.

I think also the problem is most people usually will only play the game once to the end and then call it a day. I know my friend list has a lot of people who only played the game long enough to get through it once and now they don't play anymore. My guess is once GUTS comes out we may see a boost in players or if the game is put in one of steams crazy good sales.

unmodded game goes up to NG+5, and I really don't see a point in going there, since mobs reach max level (120) at NG+3, and your char can reach max level (100) as early as NG+2 if you played some Mapworks, like my Berserker did.
there are very few items above level 100 that can drop in the game, and most drop in lvl 105 Mapworks anyways, so NG runs become almost useless.

adding "elite" mobs and unique bosses to NG+2 and beyond, plus some lvl 120 uniques and legendaries - would be a very good idea.

Just to clarify what I said about NG's. The following is the case, straight from the wiki:

There are several levels or tiers of New Game Plus:

New Game Plus (NG+) starts the world at level 51.
New Game Plus 2 (NG+2) starts the world at level 81.
New Game Plus 3 (NG+3) starts the world at level 100.

Note that player characters reach the level cap at level 100, and itemization also maxes out at this level. Monster level will still continue to go up past 100, making the game more challenging.

New Game Plus 4 (NG+4) starts the world at level 120.

Upon completing NG+4, you may move into NG+5, but the game will not scale higher.

New Game Plus 5 (NG+5) starts the world at level 120.

You may continue to loop through the game, but all future playthroughs will be considered NG+5.

Skipping tiers

When you start New Game Plus, the game will select the tier of NG+ that best matches your character's level. This means you may potentially skip one to two tiers.

If your character level is 1-79, you will be placed into NG+
If your character level is 80-98, you will be placed into NG+2
If your character level is 99-100, you will be placed into NG+3
The only way to enter NG+4 is to complete NG+3.

or have a character at level 120 :)
so many cheaters out there now in NG, I won't be surprised to see a lvl 200 char sooner or later

number of people who got to the end of NG+3 playing legit, probably can't fill one six-player game. and that's the problem.

I won't be surprised when the editor is out, if people change it so on NG+6, the World Starts at 150 or higher, and the Max Level (if there is one, idk right now) would be majorly increase to like 255, or even 999.

I'd prefer it like that. Higher the Max Level, the more playability there can be.
