^^^^^^What he said^^^^^^^
Then what... Like I said in Description, I have already done that part.. Using an embermage mod called The Saint, which changed the frost tree to a healing tree, on game startup nothing is different and the class is unchanged.
i got the same problem... it dosent Load the mods.. i got the paks + the MAN - pak. for some reason my Steam downloades / Cache thingy and then its ready to start the game.. but it still dosent load the mods -.-
It used to work fine for me, but most if not all of my mods installed don't work now with the latest patch.
it could be that the mod is broken because of the last few patches, Ive had a few of them not work and its only because the person who made it has not botherd to update the mod. I know a few modders who said they were going to wait until the are less patches so that way they don't have to fix the mod each time.
Why mod a game in the first place? Shouldn't it already be a challange or fun from release? Modify, to change to make it diffrent than it is intended. A person shouldn't have to do that to have fun, the game should already be fun in the first place with out that.

For more variety once you beat the game. TL2 was made with moddability in mind.

You miss the point . . . . .you shouldn't have to do it in the first place. If you want variety Torchlight dosnt do it, and if you have to modify a game you waisted your money. You want varity? Their is a map room with the recycled maps that are modified for difficulty. Just because you can dosn't mean you should.

Nobody's saying you should or need to mod the game. Are you trying to make an argument against the very existance of mods? It sounds as if you expect the game to have infinite variety and replayability no matter how much time passes, and that simply the possibility of modding it means you'd wasted money. I don't get that.
Why change something? Because some people are nitpicky about the developers' design choices and modding the game potentially lets them make it more enjoyable for themselves. There is no single formula that would satisfy everyone, so Runic wanted to allow people to tweak any parts they didn't like. Also, every game gradually loses its freshness, even D2. From what I've heard, long-time players just keep killing Meph, Baal and cows over and over. That's just a fraction of the whole game. With mods, you could create a whole new campaign, more classes, new skills, and pretty much whatever. Not every game allows this kind of flexibility. It makes a game better, if anything.

Sry mate but ur missing the point here... Lookup under the Steam achivments... there is some For how many mods u have installed... therefor a reason for modding the game. if u play World of warcraft Would u ask everyone why they are useing addons when the game is made not to.
some people just don't know what to say so they just start blabbering non sense
@Yappi
Tell me you are trolling, please.
I'm installing the diablo2 font mod, and I also have this problem.
Pak mods doesn't load because its timestamp is older than data.pak's timestamp (presumably because the latest patch).
We need to change mod's .pak and .pak.man timestamp so it's newer than data.pak. I use this [www.softwareok.com] tool and just set all the timestamps to year 2099.
