My fix for the BIGFOOT KILLER unable to play online due to firewall problems

Heres how I did it.

I had previously turned off my windows firewall but noticed that there was another profile that wasn't turned off. I went to:

control panel
windows firewall
-advanced settings on the left side

Then look for 'windows firewall properties' right near the top under the overview sub heading

Then make sure all windows firewall profiles (domain, private, public) are turned to state: off

If they didn't have NIC support... I don't think ANY card would be working. NIC (Network Interface Controller) is just a fancy name for network adapters. ;)

Maybe Bigfoot just needs to fix it since a user in another thread said they've been known to have a few problems with newly released games.

Do a search in windows for "local_settings.txt" which is a torchlight file. Go down to "UDPORT : 0" and change the 0 to 4171. I have a NIC card (I like to call it an IPU for Internet Processing Unit, which is what it actually is). I thought at first that my virus protection and firewall were the cause, but even after completely disabling all protection, the problem persisted. This fixed my problem.
