How to open CONSOLE
If you would like to open console to edit stats / level goto

My Documents > My Games > Runic Games > Torchlight 2 > Save > Setting > Edit CONSOLE :0 -> edit it to CONSOLE :1

Then in-game press INSERT and into the console type help.

It'll tell you all the commands you need.

That's because something changed at some point, and INSERT has been unbound as the key to open the Console.

After much searching, I discovered that you need to do the following:

1) Go to C:\Users\<YOUR NAME>\Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\save\ and click on the folder there with that's named a collection of numbers.

2) Open settings.txt and change the 0 next to CONSOLE to 1, then save the file.

3) Open KeyBindings.txt and search for <STRING>NAME:CONSOLE. Change the entry directly under it to <INTEGER>KEY:45 and save the file.

Now, when you launch the game, Steam will complain that your cloud save isn't correct. I tell Steam to upload from my computer to the cloud. Then, once I'm in game, I can press INSERT and open the Command Console.

If you change CONSOLE back to 0, you'll get the cloud save thing from Steam again, so upload again.

That didn't work for me, as I had already rebound that to Weapon Switch.

This is the answer. Thanks for this information. Took me a while to dig this up.

Keybindings can also be changed within the Options in-game.

I don't see any bindings pertaining to opening the console via the controls menu

And no "Insert" Key on the Keyboard? Not sure if the Console can be rebound from it's "Insert" Key.

I have an insert key but it does nothing
