Keeping character from demo when buying full game?

I am a level 10 Outlander and am on the "The Trail of the Grand Regent" quest, i am buying the full game today, is there a way i can keep my progess?

I'm not sure but, I think once you get the game, it updates the demo to full game and removes the demo. So, you may get to keep it as is?

I think you are right, i was seeing kids that wasnt able to keep their progress but because they bought demo from T2 website and full game from steam.

Just backup the save file and then copy it onto the tl2 directory of the retail game. I deleted the contents of the tl2 directory first, it worked for me.

it lets you keep your characters.. you will have to uninstall the demo yourself though.

I installed the demo version from Steam and played two characters as far as I could go with the demo. When I bought the full version from Steam, a small 119 MB file was downloaded and installed - both characters were moved to the full version, and I was able to continue with them from where I left off.

When i upgraded from the demo to the full game, my character was still there. I didnt have to do anything else to it. I did decide to delete my demo character and start a new one.

Yes.
My Char was lvl 14 at the end of the DEMO and now i have the game with exactly this char :)
