The Giant Warsnout is easy to fish up early in the game so that's what I usually use. The Mimic is really nice too, but the sounds it makes can become annoying after a couple hours.
Personally am a fan of the swamp flyer For its natural silence. i then fill it with silence spells and then i rarely deal with pesky trash spells.
crab is tanky as hell
wolf is the one that does more damage
molebeast stuns rnaodm targets
mimic pet got some attack and some def
For the defaults, I always pick the panda because that one is sorta better simply because the panda is by far the most visible skin. It's big and black and white, it's super easy to spot where it is on the screen compared to some other ones.
*Critical Hit!*
You have successfully cast Necromancy of the Threads.
Pet damage is far from a 'joke', used a Giant Warsnout on my pet in Act 1 and now at level 40 he hits for 1k noncrit in Elite mode, and he only has 1 unique equipped (a tag). The best pet IMO is the Torso because it's a tank with armor shredding. You basically get the best of the mimic's defensiveness with a debuff that ultimately gives it only slightly less offensiveness than the Warsnout. But it's also EXTREMELY hard to find. I've done about 300 angles on this account so far and notta single Bonefish yet... let alone a Giant Bonefish.. rip ;_;
Pet damage becomes powerful if equipped with Frost Spells levels 3, 4, 5, and 6...
ranges from 3,000 damage to 50,000.
Also look for blue (not gold) Tags and Collars that give 30% shield break and 30% critical chance or higher.
Optionally find, buy or enchant gear that gives % bonus to Pet and Minion Damage.
