The choice of pet is purely aesthetic, all the stats are the same. The best way to improve your pet is to feeding it by fishing, so you transform the pet into different types of creature with unique abilities. PS: All pets can go to sell items to town.

I was wondering whether I should check out the different pets before committing to one of them.
In Torchlight 1 my cat was always doing things on its own, which I didn't like very much.

You can set him to defensive mod which he will only attack what you attack

I like the Ferret, but if I can include something from the Synergies Mod, it would be the Spirit. It stands out enough to not look like another mob.

Dang it guys, I asked for the fish you feed it lmao. I belive the Mimic increases damage a bit and increases defenses alot, the crab has insane defense, and then I believe the Warbeast has the most damage increase. Which was the most effective in your opinion?
