Also agree on the danger factor of that...not up to hardcore mode yet (just bought TL2 and only played a bit of TL1 before it) but, especially with a shotgonne or something similar, it would be very dangerous to be in there trying to level the weapon...
It just said enemies:
Augmented Weapon:
kill 250 enemies to upgrade (0/250)
That's all it says. I killed enemies in the area I found, I've killed enemies other places, nothing seems to give me a point. I worry that if it's a damage enhancement (like Poison or something) that it just doesn't count as "weapon" damage or something...
In any case, thanks for the responses everyone. I've just given up on the weapon...don't like shotgonnes too much anyway and will most likely just sell it here.
I've been trying to get 10 champ kills with a rare wand I found, and after a few dozen champ kills, the wand still reads "Kill 0/10 Champion creatures". I'd think this issue would've been addressed by now, what the heck are the devs doing anyway?!
*Lazy good-for-nothin' tool bags*
There was also an exploit that allowed "crafting" a weapon with arbitrarily high stats by enchanting it to gain an augment, fulfilling the augment, then disenchanting so the augmented stats remained. I'm not sure if that one was ever fixed.
I've also enchanted it and put a good gem into its socket, so it's still okay for a few levels.
But, yeah, in the end it's a neat idea that isn't well implemented.
