Just wanted everyone to know that this still runs just fine on modern macs, despite what the store page indicates.

I've been slowly compiling all the games that run on my M2 system, and a lot more than expected run nicely without having to resort to Whisky or a VM.

Is there a possibility that you may one day release a Guide that lists these games to help modern Mac players to determine which games are compatible?

Or perhaps - even note the games that are not compatible?

I may perhaps, but it will be a while before I do so, as I still have a ways to go through my collection.

The fact that this game runs pretty well on post-Catalina Macs is pretty amazing.

It runs slightly better on my Intel iMac than it does on my M1 MacBook Pro, but it does still run on the M1 machine. Don't have an M2 to test it on though.

However, if you've got an M2 (with a post Sonoma OS) then you can just run the Whiskey App, and that should be able to handle TL2 (as far as I know). (Back when TL2 was first released, I used to play it using PlayOnMac (which was a Windows Emulator that worked much like the Whiskey App back in the pre-Catalina days).

I have an M2, and it runs quite well here, even late game and with mods to boot. No need for Whisky.

It still works on the GOG version! Thanks to /u/ckrokosh on macgaming who found it out.

You can move over your save files from:

• [steamapps folder]/common/Torchlight II/my games/runic games/torchlight 2/save/[steamID]
  
• [steamapps folder]/common/Torchlight II/my games/runic games/torchlight 2/modsave/[steamID]

to:

• ~/Library/Application Support/Runic Games/Torchlight 2/save
  
• ~/Library/Application Support/Runic Games/Torchlight 2/modsave

and it all seems to be working.
