Skill Tree Mixing

From what I can see you are definitely able to mix skill trees, and I'm sure that's done on purpose. But is it just as efficient having a hybrid or 3 tree mix or would it be better to spec only the on tree?

Most of my build all utilize 3 skill tree, you should too. Specializing on one skill tree is suicide.

My only suggestion is to max up the important skills in all different skill trees.

Yeah, sometimes even 1 point in some abilties is great for the effect it can give. All about that synergy
