Report a translation problem
If you want to do that without putting your save as a mod playthrough save, you can download Rapid Respec for that.
If Windows: Documents -> My Games -> Runic Games - Torchlight 2 -> save -> number series -> find your character name. Copy, move to the modsave folder. That should allow you to use the character in a modded game.
Be aware though, that it'll probably throw a "has played modded games" tag on your char when you move it back to the normal save folder.
Also, I'm not sure if there's any other steps required to actually get it to work (I've never actually done it before, since all my mod chars are either mod classes or using more extensive mods.) - I recommend copying it to the modsave as well as a external location (desktop, for example.) until you're sure it worked fine, rather than just moving the file. Backups are always a nice thing to have when moving stuff around and/or editing things.
