Sound issues
Hey guys,
I recently installed the game, but I'm having trouble with my audio.
I have no sound while in-game. Basically, during the cinematic in the beginning I had sound, but in the main menu and as soon as the gameplay starts, no sound.
I checked my other games on steam and the sound works just fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Much thanks,

1. Start your sound application or go to your mixer.
2. Open Razer Synapse.
3. Go to the Mixer tab.
4. Check whether it muted. If muted, unmute.

If that doesn't work try uninstalling Synapse and then re-installing it.

It worked once but, after turning the game off, it doesn't work anymore.

Edit: I seem to have fixed it with an alternate method. I was looking through my computer's display settings & I saw that my TV's refresh rate was set to 59 hertz so I changed it to 60 so it would match my game's refresh rate. This solved the problem &, at least, 2 other problems.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
Unfortunately I'm not using a Razer headset (just ordinary earbuds), so the first solution didn't work.
Running the game or Steam as administrator didn't work. Running Steam as admin doesn't change anything, and running the game as admin makes it crash on startup (Fatal Initialization Failure)

Thanks again,

Thanks for helping me understand.

Is there any chance that there are any other programs or apps running in the background (check the task manager) that enhance or boost game performance?

Is there any app that may enhance or alter sound?

Glad to help!

I checked in my task manager, and I couldn't identify something that wasn't there before I had my sound problems.
I'm having some weird problems with my audio these days. I suspected that these would come into play when trying to find the cause for my issue with the game, so I don't know if it's that for sure, but I'm pretty confident that they are linked somehow.

I made a Reddit post detailing these issues if you would like to check it out, maybe you could spot something and point me in the right direction? If not, I understand, I don't want to take all of your time!
Here's the thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/8c4car/realtek_hd_audio_manager_empty_other_sound/

Also, I noticed I have a lot of background processes (54 processes), it seems high, but when I check it's either Windows stuff or programs that I know. Anyway, not sure that this is linked to my issues but I figured might as well provide too much info than not enough.

Thanks again,
