Can you craft a Respec potion or not?
For real, I'm seeing so much conflicting information. I know you can use the console but I don't want to "cheat". I would prefer to play without mods. I've tried unique gem + unique item + purple potion and nothing happens. I've seen posts about the console ports getting it patched in but does Steam port not have the functionality.

As a side note. I've never played an RPG of any kind that had such little information in the form of guides, skill ratings, crafting info, item catalog, etc. It's super frustrating. I guess I should have played the game before Runic died?

You cannot craft any Respec potion in Torchlight 2 without using mods, cheats, or external third party tools.

The only respec element present in TL2 is with the "skill forgetter" NPC, and that one only allows you to respec your 3 latest skill points.

There used to be a ton of elements in the Runic forum, but sadly when they shut down, Perfect World didn't even bother keeping that stuff online..

Some of these posts can be recovered via the wayback machine, but it's nothing compared to the content there used to be.

Crafting a Respec Potion is only possible on the TL2 Console Versions: Nintendo, Playstation and Xbox.

Yes, there's also the 'Cheat Console' for the TL2 PC versions however that is unrelated and the Respec Potion Crafting Recipe is not available on the PC versions.

A different Studio made the Console Ports and disparities can be seen as a result.

Runic Games Forums and the Synergies Forums are gone.

All we have left are the Steam Guides, the Modding Fansites and the seasoned players including modders to provide info here and on the Discords.

This Guide is helpful on the lesser known aspects of TL2 mostly with Damage advice:

To get the most power from Skills there's this recommendation:

Invest heavy Strength and use Dps Skills.

Invest heavy Focus and use non_Dps Skills.

Invest both and use Skills that deal both forms of Damage.

100 or 200 Dexterity is a decent amount as it has diminishing returns towards 300.

Boris the Stat Enchanter is the best (although random) method to gain higher amounts of Stats on Higher Leveled Items.
