Beginner friendly builds?

I played the original Torchlight but never really finished it so I am wondering if anyone could point me to a good build

Class doesn't really matter, just wanna finish this game

Prismatic Bolt Embermage. The most ridiculous and owerpowered build.

if you played some rpg's in the past you can experiment as you wish on normal. most fun class to play is embermage imo. im playing on elite right now - this where you need a flawless build and in depth knowledge of the game.
